Reviews of Sidewalk's Bar and Restaurant:
"This is a pleasant little bar. If you are one for live music by aspiring musicians/singers... this is your spot. The food and service is good. Its great during the summer. In a great neighborhood; with a lot more bars in the area. Go there, have a burger, beer and live music for eye-candy."- citysearch.com
"Nice neighborhood bar/restaurant. Friendly staff. And best of all Happy Hour on the weekend!"-Virtualtourist.com
"The back of the Sidewalk Cafe, where a musician who calls himself Lach books like-minded "Antifolk" singer/songwriters eager to rescue folk music from cloying sentimentality by adding a dose of punk sass. (Acoustic guitar-wielding stars Beck and Ani DiFranco passed through the East Village Antifolk scene, which moved around before landing here.) Views are clear throughout the small space, except from the side tables behind a partition. Quirky instruments - a marching-band snare drum, an accordion, a euphonium (anti-instruments?) - hang on the walls, giving it an attic-clubhouse feel. Performers "pass the hat" for donations. A full menu is available from the cafe. If you're in the East Village, Sidewalk is worth a peek inside - the next folk-punk Bob Dylan-cum-Johnny Rotten may be puffing on his harmonica and ranting, just waiting to be discovered.
