Buy Pete Cassani and The Peasants
In 2001 The Peasants hooked up with a Dutch booking agent and began touring Holland and later, Germany. They found a huge European
audience that was hungry for authentic American street rock.
After tour #3, The Peasants returned to Boston and recorded the 12 song Welcome To My Country CD in one week. Suburban Records
(Holland) and Cargo Records (Germany) signed to distribute the two self released Peasant records after #4 Tour Feb/March 2002.
Fall 2002 The Peasants did a month tour of Holland, Germany, Belgium and Austria. Welcome To My Country and Out On The Street
are available in most Northern European record stores!!!!
Fall 2003 Welcome To My Country will hit US college radio for the first time and Pete will be hitting the roads solo in support
of it. As usual, he has no label, no distribution and completely no respect for the scumbags that currently run music in America but
he will be out touring as the CD hits the stations.
If you want to book a show with Pete, go to the contacts section of his website. He will be out early October 2003. Thank you for
your interest in truly independent music.
The Tip:
"It's pouring rain outside making for a warm and humid room inside The
Plough & Stars tonight, but that might be due to Pete Cassani who is in
the middle of a death defying solo as I come out of the rain. With a
stripped down drum set, bass, and guitar, The Peasants unload three sets
of rock 'like George Thorogoodn' roll for a paltry $3 cover. And it is
definately a wide range of rock 'n' roll with The Peasants. Just about
every style is represented. Hard rock like AC/DC, folk rock like Bob
Dylan, pop rock like Joan Osbourne, classic rock like the Rolling
Stones, punk rock like The Buzzcocks, as well as rockabilly, garage,
blues and alt-country. The second set is decidedly heavier than the
first set and it is full of songs that stick in your head like "I Get So
Excited," which can be heard being hummed through the room after the
song ends. The set is indicative of exactly what The Peasants do best -
fun garage rock 'n' roll. Sometimes sad, sometimes bitter, sometimes
smart and sometimes fun, The Peasants are always a good deal."
